Double Silver Laced Barnevelder
If you are looking for a chicken that is easy, laid back and highly productive then this is the absolute no fuss breed for you. These birds lay smooth tan eggs and have an exquisite tight lacing pattern set over glossy feathers.
Crested Cream Legbar
Cream Legbars are medium-sized fowl that are known for their active foraging and ability to survive in a free-range environment. The hens are rarely broody and produce a large number of eggs. These birds also lay a beautiful blue egg.
Black Jersey Giant
The Black Jersey Giant is a big bird - males can weigh in around 13-15 pounds with the females weighing around 11 pounds. The egg laying is not too shabby at 150-200 eggs per year, averaging between 2-4 eggs per week. Eggs are very large and light to medium brown color.
One great reason to consider Lavender Orpingtons is their eggs. Hens are moderate to heavy layers of large light brown, pink-tinted eggs. Average is about 200 eggs per year which should be plenty for a small family.

Gold Laced Orpington
These are one of those breeds that is just all around beautiful, personable, safe for all ages to handle and hilarious to watch.They are good layers, laying between 150-180 eggs per year and can be broody.
The Golden Phoenix is a single comb, clean legged variety that originated in Germany. The Phoenix is not a cold hardy breed. They require higher perches to accommodate their long tails. They are not considered good egg producers.

They are strong, intelligent and active birds and chicks mature fast. They are heavy birds so they don't fly much but are able to get over low fences so boundaries need to be secure.
Cochins are known the world over for being big friendly balls of fluff and feathers. They don't lay very well but are popular because of their sweet personality and fantastic mothering qualities.
